Extremely afraid of losing everything he has worked for, Client left his attorney and hired Joel. When he walked into our office it was immediately apparent that the Client needed someone to fight for him. Joel immediately went to work and saw through the nature of the charges and was able to get to the root of the accusations. After investigation, Joel discovered significant problems with the prosecution’s case. Joel was able to work out a deal that got the Client’s case dismissed.

Client was charged with battery constituting domestic violence. Client and his wife were visiting Las Vegas for vacation. Unfortunately, too much alcohol was consumed and a fight between the husband and wife ensued. The hotel casino security was called and forced the two of them downstairs in the casino holding area. While they were in holding Las Vegas Metropolitan Police started to interview the parties and decided to take the husband into custody. After being released, Client hired Joel Mann and discussed the case. Client was extremely worried about this charge, as he was required to carry a weapon for his job. Joel started preparing for trial, reviewing police reports, surveillance tapes, and security reports. On the day of trial Joel went through all the details with the District Attorney and the DA ultimately decided that this was not a case that can be won. The case was dismissed.

Client was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Client came to Joel thinking that her career and life were over after being arrested for battery constituting domestic violence involving her boyfriend. Joel sat down with the client and reassured her from the very moment that the circumstances were not as bad as it originally seemed. Client was upset because she could not remember what happened and did not believe that she could ever hurt her boyfriend. Joel vigorously prepared for her trial and was ready on the day of trial. On the Trial date, Joel started showing the prosecutor the weaknesses in his case and was able to get the case negotiated to a dismissal. Client was relieved that she would not have this incident ruin her life.

Client was charged misdemeanor domestic violence. Client came to Joel thinking that his career and life were over after being arrested for battery constituting domestic violence involving his wife. Joel sat down with the client and reassured him from the very moment that the circumstances were not as bad as it originally seemed. Client was upset because he was a recovering addict that had a relapse that put him in a precarious position. His wife became scared of the situation and called the police. Upon arrival the police immediately assumed the worst and arrested Joel’s client. After discussing all of the facts with the Client, Joel was able to determine the issues that would help with the case. Joel went to the trial with all the facts ready to present, but after speaking with the prosecutor, Joel was able to convince the prosecutor that the case should be dismissed.

Client was charged with his second domestic violence charge within 4 years. He was on probation at the time and was very concerned that this new charge would force his probation to be violated and him serve 5 years in the Nevada Department of Corrections. Joel moved quickly and was able to avoid the client from having to go to prison on the probation violation. Joel quickly reviewed the police reports and interviewed witnesses involved. From the beginning he was able to determine that the appropriate defense to fight for his client’s freedom. After keeping the client from being violated on probation, Joel went to work on the new charge of battery constituting domestic violence. In the end Joel was able to get the case dismissed and the client was able to keep his freedom.

Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Misdemeanor Battery

Client was charged with the serious felony of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic violence. Joel heard the plight of his client from the beginning and how her boyfriend was setting her up. Joel took the time to listen to his client and find out her story and what had happened. After hearing the situation, Joel provided advice to the client to do some items proactively in order to help with the case. After appearing in Court and looking at the evidence, Joel and the client determined that we should get ready to go to trial and fight these allegations. Client was really scared about what the implications would be on her custody battle. On the day of trial, Joel appeared in Court ready to go to trial. He had all the evidence and witnesses to support his position. Upon seeing the evidence and what Joel had prepared, the DA determined that negotiating the case was the best bet. The DA wanted the client to have a conviction on her record. Joel did not stand for that result and continued to fight. Ultimately, Joel was able to secure a total dismissal of all the charges against the client. The client was able to keep custody of her son.

Misdemeanor, Domestic Violence and Felony, Revocation of Probation

Client’s mother came to Joel Mann as Client had been arrested on a domestic violence charge while he was on probation in three different felony cases. Client was looking at substantial time in prison if he did not get acquitted of the new domestic violence charge. The Police reports indicated that Client’s girlfriend called the police and told the police that Client had body slammed her 6 – 7 times. The police arrested the Client based on her representations that he had beat her. Once Joel Mann started working on the case, he met with the Client in jail and discussed the case with him. During the conversation Joel was able to determine that there was significant issues to be used in trial. Joel put the case on calendar and invoked the Client’s Constitutional right to a Speedy Trial. Within two weeks a trial was conducted before the Las Vegas Justice of the Peace. During trial, Joel was able to get the Client’s girlfriend to admit that she had made up the accusation because she found what she believed was a receipt indicating that Client was cheating on her. After listening to Joel Mann cross-examine her, the Judge determined that the so called “victim” was in fact lying and found the Client NOT GUILTY. The Judge was so upset that Joel Mann was able to expose the girlfriends lies that the Judge called the girlfriend in and threatened to throw her in jail for lying. Within one week after the Client’s acquittal Joel was able to get all his felony probations reinstated and Client released from jail. Client is now walking around and no longer looking at 9 years in prison.

Battery Strangulation

Client was arrested and accused of strangling a girlfriend of his. The police believed that he was out at a bar drinking with his friend, they got into an argument and she went back to his house. Once they were back there the argument got more heated. She wanted to leave the house even though she was very drunk. The police believed that the Defendant tried to stop her from leaving the house and he was strangling her in order to stop her from leaving. When Joel met with the Defendant, he was very distraught as he had never been in trouble before and stated that this was all a big misunderstanding. Joel investigated the case, reviewed the police reports, and spoke with the prosecutor. Joel was able to convince the prosecutor that the police got the facts wrong and that the Defendant was innocent of the alleged charges. Joel Mann was able to get the prosecutor to agree to drop all the charges at the next Court hearing. The Defendant was able to save his job and is now sealing his record to keep any reference of this arrest off his record.

Client had been in a fight with his wife when the police were called by a neighbor. The police came and saw the injuries on client’s wife and arrested client. Client came to Joel Mann and hired him to represent him on the Domestic Violence charges. Joel took the case to trial, and, before the case was tried, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case.

Client had broken up with his girlfriend a couple of months prior. She was not taking the break up well and wanted to get back at Client. She called the police and told them that she had been severely beaten by Client as she came home from work. Police went to Client’s house in the middle of the night and arrested him. Client went to trial and presented several alibi witnesses. However, the Judge ultimately decided that the Client was guilty. Joel disagreed with the Court’s ruling and appealed the case. Joel won the appeal and received a new trial. Joel got the previous Judge removed from the case and had the case tried before a new Judge. The new Judge heard the evidence and acquitted the Defendant of the charge.
