How Top Lawyers Are Selected
This year, Vegas Inc introduced its annual list of Top Lawyers in Las Vegas, Clark County, and the surrounding areas. According to the magazine, Top Lawyers are “those who are making an impact in the legal field and leaving a mark on those they help along the way.” To narrow down a list of several thousand attorneys, Vegas Inc directly surveyed nearly 3,000 local lawyers. Vegas Inc’s survey asked these lawyers to nominate peers whom they considered outstanding in 20 broad legal practice areas.
The Top Lawyer survey was also open to nominations from the public because as Vegas Inc pointed out, “we know that when searching for a trusted attorney, many people turn to their friends and family” for recommendations. Honorees selected by community choice were then reviewed by a panel of experienced legal professionals and checked against Nevada State Bar records to “ensure that they are in good standing.”
After the nominations were complete, Vegas Inc announced a final list of approximately 160 Top Lawyers in Southern Nevada. These attorneys were recognized for excellence in several categories, including family law, personal injury, civil rights, and criminal defense. Along with only 10 other honorees, Joel M. Mann was selected by his peers as a Las Vegas Top Appellate Lawyer.
