< Back to Previous Page Not Guilty Pleas for 4 in Nevada Water Fraud Case A not guilty plea was entered for the Truckee Carson Irrigation District and four of its employees on the charge of falsifying records to obtain extra water supplies from the United States government. All four men are also allowed to stay free without bail but their trial has been set for February 23. They are also charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States Bureau of Reclamation, falsification of records, false claims and false statements. If convicted, all four men face up to 20 years in prison. “The indictment said the four "knowingly combined, conspired and agreed among themselves...to defraud the United States by impairing, impeding, obstructing and defeating the lawful functions" of the bureau "through deceit, craft, trickery and dishonest means."
