< Back to Previous Page Nevada's No. 2 Pleads Not Guilty to Money Charges Brian Krolicki, the lieutenant governor of Nevada, pleaded not guilty to charges that he mishandled a multi-million dollar state college savings program while he was serving as the state treasurer. Krolicki also plans on running against United States senator Harry Reid in 2010. Krolicki pleaded not guilty in Clark County District Court to the charges mentioned above. The trial date is set for July 14, 2009 and Krolicki feels that the charges are just politically motivated. "I look forward to getting my story out soon, and we'll do that. The facts will absolutely vindicate me in this," he said. He was indicted by a Las Vegas grand jury late in 2008 along with his chief of staff, Kathryn Besser. Krolicki is charged with two counts of misappropriation and falsification of accounts by a public officer and two counts of misappropriation by a treasurer.
